The Cosmopolitan vision
Since we embarked on the journey that eventually led to the
creation of "The
Paignton
Cosmopolitan" brand we have covered a lot of mileage, visited
many B & B's and studied the serviced accommodation market
across the UK's seaside resorts in some detail.
And our
conclusion is that there is an opportunity for a branded chain of
Bed & Breakfasts/Guest Houses in the UK's major seaside
resorts.
The modern
travelling public, whether they are travelling for business or
pleasure, appreciate the uniformity of a brand's offering and the
high standards of presentation and service that follow as a brand
is developed.
So we're taking
our experience and expertise in licencing, customer service and
rental and combining them to offer like-minded individuals or
companies the opportunity to replicate our offering here in
Paignton in other areas through a licencing contract, so that
customers can enjoy The Cosmopolitan experience at, for example,
"The
Scarborough
Cosmopolitan", or "The
Llandudno
Cosmopolitan".

What do we offer with a
Cosmopolitan licence?
We, Active Leisure Rentals Limited, seek licensees who are prepared to
purchase and develop a Bed & Breakfast/Guest House/Small Hotel
and re-brand and re-style it to The Cosmopolitan specification.
Licensees would be granted the sole rights in a defined territory
to:-
- The Cosmopolitan name.
- The Cosmopolitan operating and
management systems.
- Marketing & sales support
via The Cosmopolitan, and other, websites.
- On-going business training and
advice on all operational issues.
- 10-year renewable contracts.
What do we look for in potential licensees?
Our potential licensees will be either companies or individuals
who, 1) have sufficient financial means to fund the purchase of a
suitable property in a chosen territory and 2) can convince us of
their commitment, enthusiasm and ability to meet the required
operating standards.
Very early on in the recruitment process we will expect the
prospective licensee to outline in writing and presentation their
understanding of their target area's guest accommodation
marketplace and the potential demand for a Cosmopolitan-branded
product.
The Active Leisure commitment to licencing.
We see the licencing of The Cosmopolitan brand as fundamental to
our long-term core strategy of establishing a chain of branded
guest accommodation establishments across the UK.
Success in this will only be achieved by our supporting our licensees,
and by our licensees sharing our commitment to maximising customer
satisfaction. We are therefore mutually dependent. Our licensees
are our "Partners in Success".
What happens next?
Your first step is to visit The Paignton
Cosmopolitan:
If you come as a paying guest please introduce yourself as a
prospective licensee on check-in, in order that we may allocate
sufficient time to have a meaningful discussion with you during
your stay.
If you prefer, you may make an appointment to visit us and we will
be happy to talk through your plans and what it means to be a
Cosmopolitan licensee.
During your visit we will also discuss with you the subsequent
phases of property evaluation and local market research in order
that you have a clear understanding of the stages and timescale
involved in becoming a Cosmopolitan licensee. We will also outline
the licence fee structure at this meeting.
